EnglishIsraeli forces continued their attacks on in the Gaza Strip, yesterday, by air, as well as by land and by sea.
The Israeli Defense Minister, Ehud Barak, has stated that the Israeli group Hamas has been dealt a heavy blow, but stresses that the Gaza offensive must continue. Barak has underlined: "We have not yet reached our goals". He also said that the offensive will continue until the peace and tranquility of the Israeli civilians will be ensured. On Monday, the Palestinian militants launched 20 rockets against the Southern region of Israel.
Officials all over the world are unfolding diplomatic efforts in order to reach a ceasefire in Gaza. Several missions traveled to the Middle East, one of them led by the French president and another even higher level mission, consisting of EU representatives.
