EnglishBank Leumi Romania is launching the ,,Zefir" deposit, which offers a fixed yearly interest rate of 15% for lei and 6% for Euros for two-month deposits, according to a press release by the bank. The deposit is intended for individuals as well as for companies, resident or non-resident, with the minimum accepted amount being 1000 lei or 500 Euros.
The bank also provides a 0.10% interest rate bonus for deposits in lei and Euros created by ladies in March. Thus, the interest rate for the Zefir deposit will be 15,10% for lei and 6,10% for Euros. There is no account opening fee for individuals, and at maturity, the deposit and the interest will be transferred into the customer"s current account. The deposits are guaranteed by the State up to the amount notified by the Romanian Deposit Guarantee Fund, more specifically up to the equivalent of 50000 Euros.
