EnglishFortis and Intermarket Group have signed an agreement enabling Fortis to expand their presence on the Central European factoring market. In Romania, the company will operate through "Compania de Factoring." Fortis Commercial Finance (FCF), the asset management division of the Belgian group Fortis, will start operations in Romania within a broader expansion plan that includes Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romanian and Slovakia.
The company offers a number of services related to asset management, including financing solutions, risk mitigation, debt and receivable management. Last year"s factoring turnover was 34 billion EUR. Compania de Factoring concluded H1 with 45.5 million EUR in turnover, up by 10% than the projection. It was established in October 2006 and is controlled by Intermarket Bank Austria (50%) and Banca Transilvania (45.71%).
