University of Bucharest: over 8,000 places in the budget for 2026 admission

The University of Bucharest has announced that it is putting up for competition over 8,000 places financed from the budget for the summer admission session of 2026, intended for bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs. According to the institution, registrations and admission competitions will take place between July 1-24, and the final results will be displayed by July 31. The exact calendar differs from one college to another.

More than 4,800 bachelor's and 3,250 master's places

For bachelor's programs, UB offers candidates more than 4,800 budgeted places, while for master's studies there are more than 3,250 places financed from the state budget. Of the total number of places offered: 218 are intended for Romania's priority development fields (81 for bachelor's and 137 for master's); 129 undergraduate places are reserved for graduates from rural areas; 85 places are allocated to candidates of Roma ethnicity (70 for bachelor's degree and 15 for master's degree).

The university also offers: 358 budgeted undergraduate places for teacher training; 50 places budgeted for the didactic master's programs organized by the university's faculties.

Special admission for performance athletes

In 2026, UB organizes a special admission session for athletes who won medals at European and world competitions for Olympic disciplines and chess, as well as at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. They will be able to submit their files before the general admission session, according to a separate calendar published by the university.

Benefits for Olympians

Candidates who have obtained gold, silver or bronze medals at international school Olympiads and international scientific competitions can benefit from a special package of facilities offered by the University of Bucharest, after admission to one of the institution's 20 faculties. In order to facilitate access for candidates, the university allows both online registration for admission tests and electronic payment of related fees.
