Dozens of world-renowned cultural figures will engage in dialogue with the public during the 22 special conferences organized at the Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS), which will take place between June 20 and 29. Admission is free, subject to availability. Octavian Saiu, theatre critic, will moderate most of the events, with prominent actors, directors, writers and intellectuals as guests: Bill Murray, Kathleen Turner, Wole Soyinka, Timofei Kuliabin, Marie-France Ionesco, Simona Miculescu and Peter Bradshaw.

A gift for the FITS audience

"These conferences are unique occasions that bring together great personalities such as Bill Murray, Kathleen Turner, Wole Soyinka or Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt. It is a gift that we offer to the FITS audience, without a ticket, only with the desire to be together in dialogue”, declared Constantin Chiriac, FITS president. The program includes: June 21: Opening Conference, followed by discussions with the Rimini Protokoll team and a meeting between Gabriela Mateescu and Dan Perjovschi; June 22: Dialogue with Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt, followed by a conference on Tadeusz Kantor and a lecture by Father Constantin Necula; June 23-26: Discussions within the International Performance Exchange, with guests from the Avignon, Edinburgh and Brooklyn festivals; June 26: Marie-France Ionesco and Cristian Mungiu discuss the work of Eugène Ionesco; June 28: Conferences with Kathleen Turner, Carlo Ginzburg and Wole Soyinka; June 29: The day begins with a press conference and continues with special events with Bill Murray, Peter Bradshaw, Alain Platel, and the launch of the book Silences and Words, signed by Octavian Saiu. This year's edition of FITS brings over 841 events held in indoor, outdoor and online spaces, bringing together artists from all over the world under the theme "Thank you" - a gesture of gratitude addressed to the audience, creators and collaborators of the festival.
