EnglishThe Spanish-based Mapsa has chosen Campia Turzii as the future location of an alloy rim factory in which they are prepared to invest 17 million EUR over the next four years, sources close to the project told NewsIn. Construction works on a 12,500 sq.m. production hall will begin earliest in May. Production is slated to begin in 2008 with 130 employees, provided that the production hall is ready by then. Mapsa is planning to buy 30,000 sq.m. of land for some 750,000 EUR. The factory will produce 130,000 aluminum alloy rims in the first year and will increase capacity to 530,000 rims by 2011. Mapsa is one of the 210 companies in the group Mondragon Corporacion Corporativa, having 70,000 employees worldwide and sales of 10 billion EUR in 2005.
