Ratings firm Fitch Ratings downgraded "Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena" SpA and "Banco Popolare" SC of Italy, as a result of the country's downgrade, last month. The rating of "Monte dei Paschi" and "Banco Popolare" was cut from to "BBB", from "BBB+".
