EnglishBT Asigurari posted gross underwritten premiums of 132.3 million RON in the first half of 2007, recording a 44% increase from the same period last year, according to a company press release.
On the general insurance segment, wich accounts for 96.5% of the company"s portfolio, BT Asigurari posted gross underwritten premiums totalling 127,7 million RON in the first six months, up nearly 2.5 times from the first half of 2006.
On the life insurance segment, which represents 3.5% of total sales, the insurer posted gross underwritten premiums worth 4.6 million RON.
BT Asigurari expanded its branch network to 303 units, from 180 units in the same period last year. Currently, the company has 1,408 employees, up 24% from 1,137 in H1/06.
BT Asigurari is controled by Banca Transilvania with 79.88%, followed by SIF Banat Crisana with 10%.
