- A naval drone of the type used in the war in Ukraine is spotted near Berth 78 in the Port of Constanta. It exploded without causing any casualties.
- The National Institute of Statistics revises the estimate of Gross Domestic Product in the first quarter of the year in a positive direction: a decrease of 1.2% in real terms (on the gross series), compared to the first quarter of 2025, from -1.7%, initially published.

- The Competition Council fines ten banks in our country with 3.7 billion lei for coordinating their behavior within the procedure for establishing the ROBOR index.

- Eugen Tomac resigns after noting that he cannot gather the necessary political support.
- The President appoints the liberal Adrian Veştea, president of the Braşov County Council, for the position of Prime Minister. The PNL leadership rejects the proposal.
June 15
- The National Bank of Romania (BNR) announces that, in the period January-April 2026, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of 7,980 million euros, compared to 9,101 million euros in the period January-April 2025.
June 18
- The National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) places the mayor general Ciprian Ciucu under judicial control and subsequently indicts him for bribery during the period in which he was mayor of Sector 6.
- The mayor of Timişoara, Dominic Fritz, definitively loses, at the High Court of Cassation and Justice, the lawsuit with the National Integrity Agency, in which he was declared to have a conflict of interest.

- The rating agency Moody's draws attention to the fact that prolonged political uncertainty and the lack of a functional parliamentary majority may put pressure on the fiscal consolidation process and the implementation of the reforms undertaken by Romania.
