EnglishBelgian-based Delhaize The Lion Netherland, which operates in Romania through the Mega Image supermarket chain, has obtained the Competition Council"s approval to take control over La Fourmi and the company they control - Rafo, Gastro, Rovas and Universal, according to a press release from the Competition Council.The Council analysed the specific context of the intended acquisition and its potential impact on the retail market and came to the conclusion that, although the project is subject to the Competition Law, there are no serious reasons to doubt that it is compatible with a normal competition environment. Consequently, the Council decided not to object.
