- Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan presents the second package of fiscal measures for which the Government has committed itself to Parliament.
- The National Bank of Romania announces that, as of August 31, 2025, foreign exchange reserves at the National Bank of Romania stood at 65,188 million euros, compared to 63,225 million euros on July 31, 2025. The level of the gold reserve remained at 103.6 tons. Given the evolution of international prices, its value stood at 9,726 million euros. Romania's international reserves (currency plus gold) as of August 31, 2025 were 74,915 million euros, compared to 72,864 million euros on July 31, 2025.

- The National Bank of Romania (BNR) announces that, in the period January-July 2025, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of 17,226 million euros, compared to 14,691 million euros in the period January-July 2024. In its structure, the balance of goods recorded a deficit higher by 1,942 million euros, the balance of services - a surplus higher by 330 million euros, the balance of primary income - a deficit higher by 96 million euros, and the balance of secondary income - a surplus lower by 827 million euros.
- The National Bank warns that an inflation peak of 9.6-9.7% will be recorded in September.

- The financial rating agency Moody's maintains the rating granted to Romania at "Baa3", with a negative outlook.

- Euro - at the lowest rate of the month against the leu: 5.0632 lei, according to NBR data.

- Dollar - at the lowest rate of the month against our currency: 4.2778 lei, according to NBR.
• September 23
- NBR announces that broad money supply (M3) recorded, at the end of August 2025, a balance of 751,138 million lei. This decreased by 0.1% (-2.2% in real terms) compared to July 2025, and compared to August 2024 it increased by 8.3% (-1.4% in real terms).

- The executive decides to extend the cap on commercial additives for basic foods until March 2026.
• September 29
- The Ministry of Finance announces that the budget deficit reached 86.36 billion lei, or 4.54% of GDP in the first eight months of 2025, compared to 80.87 billion lei, or 4.59% of GDP in the same period in 2024.
- The Ministry of Finance makes the budget rectification project for 2025 transparent for decision-making.
- The gram of gold reaches the maximum price of the month: 530.7520 lei, according to the National Bank of Romania.

- The National Bank of Romania announces that the net flow of foreign direct investment in Romania was 5,603 million euros in 2024, according to a report it produced in collaboration with the National Institute of Statistics.
- The euro rises to the maximum exchange rate of the month against the leu: 5.0811 lei, according to NBR figures.
- The BET index, of the 20 most liquid securities of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, registered an advance of 3.79% in September, up to 21,337 points - a new historical record at that time, while the BET-BK index, the benchmark of return of equity investment funds, had an advance of 4.06%, to 4,118 points.
- Transgaz shares marked an appreciation of 17.15% in September, without the appearance of relevant information to justify the evolution.
- The securities of the real estate developer One United Properties appreciated by 13.79%, boosted by the announcement regarding the intention to launch a public offer to repurchase up to 20% of the capital.
- Oil and gas producer OMV Petrom shares rose 3.44% last month, as the company announced plans to pay out nearly 1.25 billion lei in additional dividends.
- Nuclearelectrica shares rose 1.52% as the company signed two financing agreements worth a total of 620 million lei to upgrade Unit 1 at Cernavoda and carry out preliminary stages of the construction of Units 3 and 4.
- The BET-FI index, which includes the five former SIFs and Fondul Proprietatea, recorded an advance of 5.99% in September, reaching the level of 75,491 points, with all five components of the stock basket recording increases during this period.
