EnglishIT product distributor Asesoft Distribution estimates a 22.5% share of the hard disk market and intends to sell over 180,000 units, according to CEO Iulian Stanciu quoted by NewsIn. The company estimates an overall hard disk market growth of 80% to over 800,000 units. The global hard disk market is worth 30 billion USD. Stanciu believes external hard disks and notebook hard disks will be the market drivers this year.
According to company estimates 160 GB units will replace 80 GB units by the year-end, whereas sales of 750 GB units will gain some 30% this year. The Western Digital models Passport (external, USB-powered, 250 GB) and the WD My Book World Edition (1.5 TB) will also contribute to stimulating sales.
Asesoft Distribution concluded last year with 72.2 million USD in turnover, up by 51% year-on-year, and intends to land 95 million USD this year. The company is ISO 9001 certified and operates in Romania and Serbia.
