Seven of the eight hospitals built through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) have reached a degree of execution between 91% and 100%, and the reception procedures must be started as soon as the stage of the works allows it, without waiting for the deadline of August 31, 2026, announced the Minister of Development, Public Works and Administration, interim Minister of Health, Cseke Attila.

The reception of the works must begin before the deadline

According to the minister, a videoconference was held this week with representatives of the hospitals financed by the PNRR, the builders and local authorities, to assess the stage of the investments and establish the necessary measures until their completion.

"We have requested that, where the works allow, the reception procedures begin before the deadline of August 31, 2026. We should not wait for the last day when projects can be closed earlier and hospitals can enter the operational phase more quickly,” Cseke Attila said in a Facebook post.

Funding is secured, without administrative blockages

The minister specified that, from the perspective of the Ministry of Health, there are no administrative delays that would affect the development of the projects. "Funding is secured, invoices are paid on time, and all our obligations have been fulfilled. From now on, everyone needs to be mobilized,” Cseke Attila said.

According to the interim Minister of Health, the builders, the beneficiaries of the investments and the local authorities must accelerate the pace of the works, so that the eight hospitals financed by the PNRR are completed on time and can enter the operational phase as soon as possible. The official emphasized that the objective is for the new medical units to offer patients in Romania modern conditions of care and medical services at high standards.
