Ford Motor has reported a 26% sales plunge in August amid a declining US economy and rising natural gas prices. Moreover, forecasts for the second half of the year do not indicate a comeback. On the contrary, production is scheduled to decrease by 50,000 units in H2, in line with industry analysts" predictions for the entire US car industry. In Ford"s case, sales of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury dropped some 9%, while truck sales plunged 32%.
