In the coming years, audit firm "Grant Thornton" wants to reach a market share of 5% of the Romanian audit market, which it says it is valued at 150-200 million Euros a year, which would place it in the 6th-7th position, according to Stephane Bride, managing partner of the Romanian branch.
"Grant Thornton" has been present in Romania for about a year, but the company only launched officially yesterday, as it wanted to create the operating structure and a customer base first. "Grant Thornton" Romania provides audit, tax and consulting services.
"Our ambition is to become an alternative to the BIG4 (ed. note: the four largest audit companies in the world)", said Stephane Bride.
He said that the crisis provides "Grant Thornton" Romania with an opportunity to help companies weather this difficult period.
Clients of "Grant Thornton" Romania include Endava, Grawe Romania, Vae Apcarom, Agrana.
The company has 2500 partners all over the world, is present in over 100 countries and has over 30,000 employees.
"Grant Thornton International" had revenues of 3.67 billion dollars in 2010, up 2% over the previous year, according to a statistic by IAB World, presented by the company. According to the same report, the BIG4 companies had revenues of over 20 billion each in 2010 (ed. note: Deloitte - 26.57 billion dollars, up 2% over 2009, PricewaterhouseCoopers - 26.56 billion dollars, up 2% over 2009, Ernst&Young - 21.55 billion dollars, up 1% over, KPMG - 20.63 billion dollars, up 3% over 2009).
