Harsh replies between Becali and Simion

The exchange of retorts between George Becali and George Simion in which Becali reacts to Simion's announcement regarding contesting the elections, and Simion responds to Becali's reaction, illustrates that the scandal first broke out in the sovereignist camp. We reproduce the statements of the two below.

• Becali: "Simion received new orders from Austria"

After, on Tuesday, George Simion announced that he intends to contest the elections, using harsh and aggressive expressions, George Becali had an acid reaction, during a TV show, as follows: "Smion was in Austria and there he received other new orders. There he received some orders from some people who give them to him or from a general from Romania - there are some generals who retired and who invented Georgescu and him - one of them, I don't know if he is still alive, is General Suceavă; that General Suceavă invented Georgescu. And these generals who invented Simion, who want to lead even now, they gave the order: so to speak! These are my information, now I can also be taken down the wrong path. But what I saw that evening - (...) recognizes that the vote was impartial...and now he comes and says he's avoiding a bloodbath! What blood? Well, where are we, on the front? Well, if he beat you and got a million votes, well, then what should we do? If you want a bloodbath, you guys, then let's have a bloodbath six million with five million; let's fight six million with five million because you don't want it, George Simion, so that you admit it. That we have to make you president, you liar, swindler and sly one! That it doesn't suit you anymore, after you were Georgescu, Georgescu, and you weren't Simion, now I don't know who you want to be...Popescu, who do you want to be?

Until now I didn't want to attack him, until now I was a friend, but now that I see this mess...well, you vagabond, now you come and tell me about a bloodbath? But who are you to make a bloodbath? He doesn't understand that's it, it's over with AUR! He wants to maintain it, it can't be maintained anymore, that's it, it's history, it's really over! And I told him that evening - ba, it's over with you! That's it, you had a unique chance, you won't have it again because this sovereignist bloc will be taken over by smart people from this country, smarter than you and me and who haven't entered politics until now because of the misery that all these old parties kept this political door closed and they commanded everything and they controlled everything. And now people have woken up that if you can enter the second round - well ba, there are people a thousand times smarter than you, how can I enter the second round? Well, smart people are coming from now on, it won't be you anymore! Are you coming with a bloodbath? Ba, you vagabond, ba! Well, what are those words - bloodbath? I don't think so he's still sane! I still sent him messages of friendship, but now that I've seen it, I won't send him any messages - I'll just tell him: you crazy person, are you on drugs? What are these bloodbath words, where do you come up with something like that? Who are you to demand the annulment (ed. of the accusations) of Georgescu, the annulment of Peşchir, to say we demand this, we demand that? Well, who are you to demand it? Well, be careful so that you don't get arrested soon!"

• Simion: "It's time to create our own ecosystem"

George Simion, who admitted his defeat on election night and congratulated Nicuşor Dan on his victory, said on Tuesday that his statement on Sunday night was made to avoid "bloodshed." The AUR president claims, according to golazo.ro, which quotes realitatea.net, that Gigi Becali was sent by the "system" on election night to convince him to accept his defeat: "Do you see how this propaganda works? You looked very carefully at what I said. They wanted to provoke bloodshed. They sent Gigi (n.r. George Becali) at 01:00 at night to try and so, and so, and so, maybe it will work with me. It won't work with me! I consult with Călin Georgescu, not with corrupt people, involved in corruption, who tried to corrupt us". Simion previously announced that he intended to contest the election result, and the way he did it angered Becali. "The reason why I, considering the numbers from the polling stations, congratulated Nicuşor Dan, was the fact that I love Romania, I love the Romanian people and I never want to see bloodshed in our country, which would justify chaos and the takeover of power by some (...) Just because I avoided bloodshed on Sunday, May 18, just because I chose to read the number of votes in the ballot boxes correctly and that I do not want Romania to disappear as a state, does not mean that we can be taken for fools", declared Simion.

He accused "electoral tourism" in the Republic of Moldova and denounced an alleged interference by France in the elections in our country, as well as an "entire fraud mechanism". The AUR leader claims that this is about "vote buying", stating that "one hundred million euros was the budget allocated in the Republic of Moldova only for electoral tourism": "Because deceased people voted in the May 18 election and no calculation in the world can show us that over 11,500,000 Romanians voted".

The head of AUR also states that social networks have been manipulated and that algorithms have been used to influence Romanian citizens: "The testimony of the Telegram creator in which he says that the French government intervened to censor our voices during this period is telling and I demand that the Telegram creator be heard before these elections are declared valid. (...) Furthermore, before, during and after this process there was a huge manipulation mechanism activated by the Cyberint directorate, led by General Anton Rog and other internal and external services, which is why I demand that in the future no force from any intelligence service or any other state interfere in the democratic process in Romania and in censoring the critical voices of Romanians. (...) We will remain united in our sovereignist movement and we invite all those who do not want to endorse Nicuşor Dan and this puppet Government to join us.

My voters and supporters in this call have begun to be threatened and fear for their integrity, their businesses or even their lives or their families. I will not allow even a hair on their head to be touched. I know what I am talking about and I have the Romanian people on my side. You can hide in a snake hole and we will still find you, if you try to intimidate the political opposition, the free press and the economic environment. We have no other master but God. So, my dears, please do not be afraid! (...) May God help us, I thank you and I ask each of you to add your own request to my request from the Constitutional Court. It is also time to create our own ecosystem. None of those who supported Nicuşor Dan in this campaign is a credible source of information anymore. We must have our televisions, websites, information channels and messaging channels.

If the signal of Realităţia TV itself, on Friday and Sunday, fell on many cable networks, if some social media or messaging networks censored including the phone number that I used to track down the deceased, then, as a solution, we must use Telegram, which knew how to remain upright and not give in to the pressures of the French state, to work with human rights organizations, with international institutions that remain faithful to the principles of democracy and fundamental freedoms, so all of us, this movement, must work with each other, and with none of those who participated in the coup or proved to be traitors.

We do not give in! We do not give up! It is only the beginning of a great victory for the Romanian people!"

In the same imp, George Simion demanded the withdrawal of the charges against Călin Georgescu: "We urgently demand the withdrawal of all charges against Mr. Călin Georgescu and the elimination of judicial control over him and over Mr. Bogdan Peşchir, a political prisoner."
