ING Asigurari de Viata grew faster than the market last year, reaching a market share of 41,2%, compared to 36% at the end of 2005. The insurer reported a premium income of 434 million RON, up 11% year-on-year (compared to an average life insurance market growth of 3,4%).
The company aims at a 15% growth in premium income this year. New insurance policies brought ING 65,405 million RON, a similar amount to that obtained in 2005. Total revenueas amounted to 541,8 million RON last year, up 9,7% from the previous year. The company"s expenses grew slower than revenues, at a rate 8,8%, to 500 million RON, so that ING Asigurari de Viata reported a gross profit of 41,8 million RON for 2006, up 21,3% year-on-year.
Bram Boon, the CEO of ING Asigurari de Viata, said he was satisfied with last year"s results, but he wishes to accelerate this growth in the current year. ING Asigurari de Viata aims at a quarter of the optional private pension market and approximately one third of the obligatory private pension market, added Mr. Bram Boon.
