EnglishThe telecom market in Romania will undergo significant trend shifts in the next four years as the number of landlines will decrease from 4.2 million in end-2006 to 3.5 million in 2011, whereas the number of mobile lines will surge from 17.5 million to 29.5 million in the same interval.
Moreover, some 2 million broadband internet connections will be counted in 2011, compared to 1 million in 2006. According to IDC, the Romanian telecom market reached 3.4 billion USD last year, of which 2.2 billion from mobile telephony, 0.7 billion from landline telephony and 110 million USD from broadband connections.
