EnglishOPCOM, the company operating energy trading platforms, has suspended Termoelectrica"s right to buy energy from the Next-Day Market because of an overdue 40 million RON debt to energy suppliers, according to Termoelectrica GM Viorel Marian. Termoelectrica accumulated 16 overdue invoices issued by Electricom SA, Beny Alex, Euro - Pec and Electrica Muntenia Nord. Marian doubts that the company will ever manage to pay the invoices considering that it ban barely cover daily operational expenses. In his opinion a major problem is that the regulated energy price is less than the production price, at least in Termoelectrica"s case.
