EnglishTMD Friction is inaugurating a new production hall within an overall investment of some 25 million EUR, which has been described as the largest the town has seen. TMD Caransebes currently has 35 employees and is planning to hire another 45 by the year-end. The overall number of jobs will increase by 250 in 2008.
TMD Friction started the project this spring, after having bought 67,000 square meters auctioned by the Caransebes Town Hall for over 300,000 EUR. The originally selected site was located near Resita, where the local authorities had leveled a hill to provide the investor with optimal conditions. However, the uncertainties related to the legal status of the land determined the investors to go to Caransebes.
