Babeş-Bolyai University has allocated, in the period 2023-2025, over 40 million lei to support students, from its own revenues. According to the data presented by the university, financial support was granted in several forms. Thus, in the last three years: 20.6 million lei were directed to scholarships supported from its own funds; over 17 million lei were allocated for social assistance; over 4 million lei financed student projects. University representatives specify that these amounts come exclusively from the institution's own revenues.
• Extended support: facilities and reduction of living costs
In addition to direct funding, the university also grants a series of facilities aimed at reducing student expenses. These include tuition fee reductions, support for extracurricular activities and investments in accommodation infrastructure and services. An important element is the coverage of utility costs in student dormitories. According to the institution, this measure significantly contributes to reducing monthly expenses for students accommodated on campus.
• Investments in student life and academic projects
UBB specifies that the support is not limited to the direct financial component. The university constantly supports student projects, cultural and academic initiatives, as well as volunteering, research and innovation activities. These programs are intended to complement professional training and provide students with opportunities for personal development and integration into the academic and social environment. "Student comfort is one of our priorities, so we constantly try to support them, both through facilities related to living conditions - accommodation, meals, leisure options - and through financial support provided permanently, in various forms," the university management representatives said. They emphasized that the support programs will continue in the coming years, in the context of increasing living costs and the need to maintain equitable access to university education.
