The University of Bucharest is investing in a multimedia studio

Versiunea în limba română

The University of Bucharest (UB) is launching, in the academic year 2026-2027, a Multimedia Creation Studio, intended for the practical activities of students from several faculties, especially those from the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences. The investment exceeds 500,000 lei and was financed from European funds, through PNRR, and from a sponsorship. According to the University of Bucharest, the new studio was designed for activities specific to the professions of radio and TV journalists, by using modern technologies from the media industry. The space has a desk and LED screen, 4K multi-camera system, own direction and infrastructure for video streaming and distribution. Amenities also include professional audio recording and mixing equipment, an intercom system, and auto-dimming LED lighting fixtures. The studio will be used both in courses and seminars, as well as for practical activities and the development of editorial products.

• UB: infrastructure investments support student training

The Rector of the University of Bucharest, Marian Preda, stated that the new studio is part of a series of investments made in recent years to modernize the spaces intended for students and teaching staff. "Whether we are talking about the renovation of the UB Palace and the Panduri Campus, the construction of a new dormitory in the Grozăveşti Complex or the re-functionalization of the University House Garden, the University of Bucharest shows once again that behind the figures that prove that our students have the highest employability rate is a strategy and a constant concern", declared the rector. For his part, Lucian Ciolan, vice-rector for development projects and continuous learning, stated that the investment aims to transform the technological infrastructure into a direct resource for the educational process. According to him, the studio will allow experimentation and the development of skills needed for current professions and will also support the university's Communication and Public Relations Department in the production and promotion of academic activities.

• Funding through PNRR and sponsorship

The creation of the Multimedia Creation Studio was coordinated and implemented by the Communication and Public Relations Department of the University of Bucharest. The financing came from the Institutional Development Fund of the Ministry of Education and Research, from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, through the "EDIS - Digital Ecosystem for Sustainable Learning at the University of Bucharest" project, as well as from a sponsorship offered by Raiffeisen Bank through the "Virtute et Sapientia" Foundation of the University of Bucharest.
