"There is a financing program, worth 38.2 million euros, for listing companies on the stock exchange"

Three state-owned energy and transport companies are to be listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), according to the discussions held between the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) and the Government, Alexandru Petrescu, the President of the ASF, said yesterday, on the occasion of the event that marked the listing of the last issue of Fidelis government securities at the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB).

Alexandru Petrescu said: "There is a call for projects for the listing of companies on the stock exchange. A financing program worth 38.2 million euros, which is part of the PNRR, through which companies wishing to list on AeRO can obtain up to 70,000 thousand euros, and companies wishing to list on the Regulated Market can get up to 300,000 euros. The call for projects which is intended for companies with majority private capital has been open since June 7 and will run until May 31, 2025. My message is an encouragement to companies who are considering a listing, either on AeRO or Regulated Market".

The President of the ASF added: "We should see many more companies (n.r. aimed at listing on the stock exchange), apart from those that are subject to an obligation also on the PNRR and that also use the OECD conditionalities. From the government messages and from the discussions I have at the level of the Government administration, I understand that there will be three companies from the energy sector and the transport sector, with state capital, that will be listed. Therefore, there are prospects of significantly increasing the capitalization of the stock market".

The ASF official also emphasized that the Fidelis government bond issues have become an important stepping stone for those who take the first steps in investing in financial securities in our country.

"The investor community in Romania has reached the important milestone of 200,000 investors, of which approximately 18% are investors holding Fidelis government securities. This shows that, also from the perspective of financial education, Fidelis is an important step to enter the Romanian investor community", said Alexandru Petrescu.

Through the last issue of Fidelis state securities, the Ministry of Finance attracted almost 1.7 billion lei and over 311 million euros (values totaling over 3.2 billion lei - 650 million euros), through the fourth primary offer for the sale of state securities for the population, the titles being listed yesterday at BVB.

The interest rates are between 5.8% and 7% for securities in lei, respectively 4% and 5% for those in euros, and maturities of one and five years. For the installment of blood donors, the minimum subscription was 500 lei. The income obtained, both from interest and from capital gains related to the trading of government securities, are non-taxable.
