EnglishBancpost doubled its total loan portfolio last year, increasing its market share to 4,9% from 4,1% in 2005. The most significant increase in the bank"s market share was registered in mortgage loans, reaching 10,5% in 2006, compared to 8,1% in the previous year. Bancpost also increased its market share in corporate loans to 4,0%, from 3,1% and reported a 50,3 % increase in total deposits volume.
Bancpost"s total assets reached 7,7 billion RON (2.3 billion EUR), up 46,8% compared to 2005, the bank ranking sixth in Romania, with a market share of 4,5%. Last year, the bank posted 25,5 million RON in net profit, the equivalent of approximately 7,2 million EUR, compared to the 1,2 million RON losses posted for 2005.
