EnglishThe National Securities Commission (CNVM) has licensed Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) to operate on the capital market as an intermediary, according to a CNVM announcement. BCR will be able to perform financial investment activities as per CNVM regulations as of the date the license is formally provided to the bank.
BCR Group includes the bank, BCR Asigurari, BCR Leasing, BCR Asset Management and BCR Securities. BCR is the largest bank in Romania, with assets in excess of 14.6 billion EUR at the end of Q1. CNVM has this week licensed 17 UK brokers and one Cypriot broker, thus bringing the total number of entities licensed to operate on the Romanian market close to 60.
