Museum Night 2026: City Hall, ARCUB, Arc de Triomphe and Mogoşoaia Palace open their doors to the public

Bucharest residents and tourists are invited on Saturday to participate in the 22nd edition of Museum Night, one of the most anticipated cultural events of the year. On this occasion, numerous cultural institutions and emblematic buildings in the Capital and nearby will be open for free or at a reduced rate, and the program includes guided tours, exhibitions, concerts and artistic installations. In Bucharest, no less than 43 museums and cultural spaces are participating in the event, offering the public a rare opportunity to discover the city's architectural and artistic heritage.

Bucharest City Hall Palace, open until midnight

The Bucharest City Hall will be open to the public from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Admission is free and does not require prior registration. Visitors will be able to take part in guided tours lasting approximately 15 minutes, during which they will learn about the history of the monumental building and details about the personalities who have crossed its threshold.

Among the evening's attractions are: the exhibition "Bucharest that Never Was", dedicated to important architectural projects that were never realized;

the works of the scholarship holders of the National Program "Young Talents"; the launch of the series "Outstanding Mayors of Bucharest"; the participatory installation "Bucharest NOW";

musical moments performed by DJ Chlorys and the Sorina Rotaru Band.

National Museum of Romanian Literature, with tours and concerts in the garden

At the National Museum of Romanian Literature, the program starts at 2:00 PM and includes activities for children and adolescents, vernissages, concerts and literary discussions in the garden. The memorial houses will also be open for visitors: George and Agatha Bacovia Memorial House, Tudor Arghezi Memorial House - Mărţişor. The Arc de Triomphe will be open between 6:00 PM and 12:00 PM, and the public will be able to visit both the permanent exhibition and the temporary exhibition "Evocation of the Participants of the First World War". At the Mogoşoaia Palace, access will be allowed between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM, and the evening will be complemented by live music recitals in the courtyard of the estate.

Museums and historic houses with free access

Other institutions that open their doors between 4:30 PM and 10:30 PM are: Frederic Storck and Cecilia Cuţescu Storck Museum, George Severeanu Museum, Filipescu-Cesianu House, Suţu Palace. At ARCUB, artists Dan Perjovschi and Lia Perjovschi will give guided tours of the exhibition "DRAFT for a Common Retrospective", from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The exhibition will be open until midnight.

A European event dedicated to cultural heritage

The Night of Museums is organized simultaneously in many European countries and offers the public the chance to discover museums, galleries and historic buildings for free or at reduced costs. The 2026 edition confirms the public's growing interest in culture and heritage, transforming the Capital into a true nocturnal circuit of art, history and creativity.
