EnglishPraktiker plans to expand its store chain to 30 locations, said Guenter Vosskaemper, CEO of the company, at the opening of the 17th Praktiker store in Galati. He added that the average investment necessary to open a Praktiker store amounts to 8 million EUR.
The Galati store required a 10 million EUR investment, due to high constructuion costs. Since 2002, when the company started its activity in Romania, Praktiker opened 16 more stores in Bucharest-Voluntari, Bucharest-Militari, Bucharest-Vitan, Cluj-Napoca, Ploiesti, Brasov, Timisoara, Bacau, Oradea, Constanta, Craiova, Arad, Targu-Mures, Satu Mare, Braila and Baia Mare.
