EnglishMobile telephony operator Orange Romania reported revenues of 578 million EUR in the first six months of 2007, recording a 24% increase from the same period last year.
Orange Romania reached 8.572 million customers at the end of July this year, thus marking an 18.8% rise from the corresponding period of 2006, according to a company press release quoted by NewsIn.
The positive financial results are mainly due to the company"s product development strategy for the youth and business segments. The company has also recorded a significant growth in broadband services. Orange Romania is a local market leader on the basis of both revenues and number of customers.
The parent company France Telecom posted revenues of 25.9 billion EUR in the first six months, up by 1.9% from the same period last year. The company"s gross operating margin grew 1.9% to 9.4 billion EUR, with the GOM rate stable at 36.3% of revenues.
