EnglishTimisoreana, a beer brand owned by Ursus Breweries, a member of SAB Miller, secured an 11.3% market share in 2007, according to the retail audit performed by MEMRB Romania. Timisoreana had secured 8.8% of the market in 2006 and 7.1% in 2005. The brand practically moved from the 5th to the 1st position in its segment in only three years.
On the mainstream segment, Timisoreana reported market shares of 27.9% in 2007, 23.4% in 2006 and 21.1% in 2005. Sales also increased significantly, by 41.8% in 2007, compared to the overall market growth of 9.6%. Ursus Breweries also holds Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Ursus, Stejar, Ciucas, Reed"s and Pilsner Urquell. The company"s overall market share is 24.9%.
