The National Radio Theater of Radio Romania launches, on National Culture Day - January 15, the new version of the eteatru.ro platform, presented as the largest on-demand collection of radio theater in Romania. • Real-time access to a sound heritage archive
The new eteatru.ro platform offers real-time access to classic shows, legendary productions, historical productions, contemporary creations and premieres made especially for the audio medium. The archive brings together fundamental texts of Romanian and universal dramaturgy, signed by established authors, interpreted by great actors of the Romanian stage and under the coordination of prestigious directors, inform the creators of the platform. All available shows have been remastered and comply with the highest technical standards of digital broadcasting, in accordance with international broadcasting norms, to provide a high-quality audio experience.
• Modern platform, designed for all ages
Built as an audio streaming platform, eteatru.ro emphasizes ease of use and personalization of the experience. Users can create a personal account, save their favorite shows and resume listening at any time. The content is organized into clear thematic collections - comedies, dramas, new productions, award-winning or historical shows - facilitating intuitive and pleasant navigation. An important novelty is the interface specially designed for children, which will bring together stories and plays dedicated to the little ones, in memorable interpretations, intended to bring new generations closer to theater and literature through sound.
• A continuously expanding catalog
The new eteatru.ro is designed as a dynamic platform, in continuous development. Dozens of new shows will be added monthly, and the catalog will soon reach thousands of radio theater productions and audio stories. The initiative aims not only to preserve the sound heritage, but also to increase the general public's access to quality cultural creations, regardless of age or where listeners connect from. Radio theater has a long tradition in Romania. The first theater broadcast on the radio took place on February 18, 1929, with the broadcast of the play "Ce ştia satul", by V. Al. Jean (pseudonym of playwright Ion Valjan). The moment marked the beginning of a cultural history that continues today. Over the decades, the National Radio Theatre has built one of the most valuable sound archives in the Romanian cultural space, bringing together representative creations, emblematic voices and interpretations that have defined entire eras of theatre. At the time of launch, on January 15, the eteatru.ro platform will be completely free, offering the general public the opportunity to rediscover radio theatre as a living, current and digital artistic form.
