- The Financial Supervisory Authority approves the authorization of CCP.RO Bucharest as a Central Counterparty, an entity that will serve the capital market and the energy market, and which will allow the launch of derivative financial instruments in our country and the realization of short sales.
- The NBR announces that, on June 30, 2026, the foreign exchange reserves at the National Bank of Romania stood at 63,493 million euros, compared to 64,051 million euros on May 31, 2026. The level of the gold reserve remained at 103.6 tons. Given the evolution of international prices, its value stood at 11,766 million euros. Romania's international reserves (currency plus gold) on June 30, 2026 were 75,259 million euros, compared to 77,042 million euros on May 31, 2026.

- The franc reaches the maximum exchange rate of the month against our currency: 5.6992 lei, according to NBR data.

- The gram of gold reaches the maximum price of the month: 610.5409 lei, according to NBR.

- President Nicuşor Dan announces, from the NATO summit in Ankara, that Romania has joined the declaration on the common intention of the allies to establish the Bank for Defense, Security and Resilience, specifying that our country is a founding member of the new institution and will host a regional office of it.

- The Board of Directors of the National Bank of Romania decides the following: to maintain the monetary policy interest rate at 6.50% per annum; to maintain the interest rate for the lending facility (Lombard) at 7.50% per annum and the interest rate for the deposit facility at 5.50% per annum; to maintain the current levels of the minimum reserve requirements for lei and foreign currency liabilities of credit institutions.

- A ransomware-type cyberattack takes place on the National Agency for Cadastre and Real Estate Advertising, causing the largest disruption of the institution's IT systems in its history.

- The National Bank of Romania (BNR) announces that, in the period January-May 2026, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of 11,425 million euros, compared to 12,075 million euros in the period January-May 2025. In its structure, the balance of goods recorded a deficit lower by 536 million euros, the balance of services - a similar surplus, the balance of primary income - a deficit higher by 146 million euros, and the balance of secondary income - a deficit lower by 264 million euros.

- The gram of gold, quoted at the minimum level of the month: 588.7371 lei, according to the National Bank of Romania (BNR).

- The National Bank of Romania announces that broad money supply (M3) recorded a balance of 803,867.7 million lei at the end of June 2026. This decreased by 0.3% (similar evolution in real terms) compared to May 2026, and compared to June 2025 it increased by 7.8% (-2.4% in real terms).

- The Ministry of Finance announces that the general consolidated budget ended with a deficit of 41.03 billion lei, respectively 2% of GDP in the first six months of 2026, compared to a deficit of 69.80 billion lei, respectively 3.64% of GDP in the same period in 2025.

- Unit 1 at Cernavodă is closed under control due to the very low level of the Danube.

- Euro rises to the highest rate of the month against the leu: 5.2473 lei, according to NBR figures.

- The BET index, of the 20 most liquid stocks traded on the BVB, rose 11.3% in July, to 36,154 points, and the BET-BK, the benchmark for the performance of equity investment funds, rose 7.9%, to 6,745 points.
- Shares of sausage and ready-meals producer Cris-Tim Family Holding rose 45.6% in July, having the highest appreciation in the BET index.
- Shares of consumer goods distributor Aquila recorded an increase of 24.1%.
- Digi Communications shares appreciated by 8.6% in July, a period in which the Spanish subsidiary was listed on four stock exchanges in the Iberian Peninsula.
- Shares of oil company OMV Petrom appreciated by 18.7%, those of natural gas producer Romgaz - by 23.2%.
- Shares of energy producer Nuclearelectrica fell by 10.5%, mainly due to the shutdown and disconnection of Unit 1 at Cernavodă from the National Energy System.
- The BET-FI index, of former SIFs plus Fondul Proprietatea, rose by 3.4%, to 107,990 points, the lowest increase among the BVB stock baskets.
