Sport is a very good mirror for society. Romanian football does not know how to respect its heroes, not even when they pass on to the eternal.

The latest example, the Dinamo-Rapid derby (0-2), when the moment of silence dedicated to Flavius Domide (former Romanian international), the victims of the accident in Rahova, but also to the commemoration of Cătălin Hâldan (former international and Dinamo player) turned into a moment of disrespect, pigmented with crazy songs, swearing and shouting. After that, the stands were stained with all kinds of banners containing trivialities.

If we no longer have a little respect for the dead, we can rightly ask ourselves, what do we still respect?

Our football constantly fails the decency exams and this is no longer anything new or surprising. It is difficult to explain why the "gallery” of stadiums refuses to intersect with civilization. What barriers cannot it cross?

It is known that respect is not demanded, it is imposed and cultivated, primarily through education. And where pious silence disappears, the chaos of indecency sets in. In the stands, but also in the streets, more and more people confuse freedom with meaningless shouting. The fault lies primarily with us, with all those who have forgotten to sanction vulgarity and value dignity. A moment of silence should be a lesson in humanity, not a noise test.

But in the rush for a dubious spectacle, in which every failure is desperate to stand out, even death has become a secondary detail.

If we do not relearn to be silent when necessary, we will end up not hearing anything - neither others nor ourselves.
