Mihai Dimian, Minister of Education and Research, stated that the role of universities is more important than ever in a world marked by accelerated technological and social transformations. The official emphasized that higher education institutions must not only transmit knowledge, but also form characters, stimulate innovation and prepare young people capable of responsibly responding to the challenges of the future. The statements were made during a visit to Alba Iulia.
• Universities, pillars of the future society
According to the minister, the current context, characterized by the development of cyber-physical systems and complex regional challenges, amplifies the responsibility of universities. "Higher education institutions have the mission not only to transmit knowledge, but also to form characters, support innovation and prepare generations capable of responsibly responding to the challenges of the future", stated Mihai Dimian. He sent a message of encouragement to the students, urging them to dare to dream, to follow their passions and to have confidence in their own potential. In his opinion, universities must provide young people with the necessary tools to transform personal aspirations into concrete achievements.
• Adapting the educational offer to the labor market
The minister appreciated the efforts of local universities to restructure and diversify their academic offer in line with economic developments and labor market requirements. According to him, correlating study programs with the needs of society is proof of strategic vision and institutional responsibility.
