Ministry of Education proposes financial incentives for students with a 10 average in national exams

The Ministry of Education has launched a public consultation on the draft Government Decision on granting financial incentives to graduates who obtained a 10 average in the National Assessment and the Baccalaureate exam in the June-July 2026 session. According to the project, middle school graduates who completed the National Assessment with a 10 average will receive 2,000 lei each, and high school graduates who obtained a general average of 10 in the first session of the Baccalaureate exam, including in the special session, will benefit from 5,000 lei each.

• Proposed amounts

The Ministry of Education stated, in a message published on its official Facebook page, that the financial incentives aim to reward academic performance obtained in national exams. According to the draft normative act, the value of the prizes is:

2,000 lei for each eighth-grade graduate with an average of 10 in the National Assessment; 5,000 lei for each high school graduate who obtained an overall average of 10 in the Baccalaureate exam, including in the special session.

• 100 students obtained the maximum average

In the sessions held this summer, 93 high school graduates completed the Baccalaureate exam with an average of 10. Of these, 70 passed the exam in the June session, one candidate obtained the maximum average in the special session, and another 22 recorded the same performance in the German Baccalaureate exam. In the National Assessment, seven eighth-grade graduates obtained an overall average of 10.
