EnglishSome 11.12 million tons of freight was loaded / unloaded in Romanian maritime harbors during the first three months of the year according to a statistic of the Ministry of Transportation quoted by Rompres. Specifically, 4.5 million tons of freight were loaded and 6.22 million tons unloaded from various ships in Romanian sea harbors. According to the same source, no domestic operator moved any maritime freight in the reference period. As for last year, some 49,000 tons of freight were moved on maritime ships. At the end of 2007, Romania ship registry included 31 freight ships, 1 maritime passenger ship, 11 fishing ships, seven ships dedicated to various off-shore activities, 52 towboats and 80 maritime maintenance ships.
