EnglishShareholders in Tractorul SA - Brasov yesterday appointed a new administrator, Gheorghe Pasca, and reinstated the former general manager, Titu Serban, according to union leader Gheorghe Apostu quoted by NewsIn. Their main task for the immediate future is to find a way to pay salaries to the 1,923 employees. According to Apostu, so far through the year, the employees have only received half of January"s pay.
As soon as the new appointments are registered with the Trade Registry, Pasca and Serban will start selling spare part stocks to collect some of the needed money. Tractorul shareholders on February 23rd decided to liquidate the company and lay off all employees in two stages over one month. The decision is still valid. The shareholders the State Assets Recovery Authority (AVAS) - 80.18%, SIF Transilvania (17.15%) and others.
