Even though it"s almost complete, the draft for the law of tourism will have to wait until for the vote of the Parliament, because until the presidential elections are over, all the members of the parliament are doing is fighting political battles, Minister of Tourism Elena Udrea said yesterday in Mangalia. "No one is going to do anything constructive until after the elections. We will see unending political battles in relation to the elections, and this law that is long overdue will need to wait for the vote until after the elections", the minister of Tourism said, in a press conference, as quoted by Agerpres. Elena Udrea said that, unfortunately, there will be a second round of elections. "Unfortunately, the law has been designed in such a way that a second round of elections can not happen, because the winner of the first stage has to get half plus one of the votes of registered voters, which is also impossible, because voter turnover is low", she said. On a different note, the minister said that the draft of the law of tourism has a separate chapter on seaside tourism and it includes measures intended to support investors in the sector, to support the growth of the sector during the official five-month season set by law (May 1st - September 30th), which would represent an incentive for tour operators to offer better services. Other measures concern "prevention of black market tourism", as well as supporting investments made by local public authorities.
Elena Udrea said that the draft of the Law of Tourism has taken into account suggestions made during the discussions with seaside economic operators, especially hotel operators, and with officials of the local administrations.
