Romania was successfully represented at the International Philosophy Olympics (IPO), held from May 15 to 18 in the city of Bari, Italy. One of the two participating Romanian students obtained a mention, the Ministry of Education and Research announced.

The two students who represented Romania at the prestigious competition are: Matei-David Şerban, a student of the "Emil Racoviţă" National College in Iaşi - mention, and Andreea-Denisa Stroiu, a student at the "Costache Negri" National College in Galaţi. The result obtained by Matei-David Şerban is a confirmation of the value of Romanian philosophy education, in a competitive international context.
• Global competition: 111 students from 54 countries
Now in its 33rd edition, the International Philosophy Olympiad brought together 111 students from 54 countries. The event promotes critical thinking, philosophical reflection and the expression of ideas in writing, at the highest high school level. The Romanian delegation was coordinated by two experienced teachers: Eugen Stoica - member of the International Committee and the International Jury, from the Ministry of Education and Research, and Ioan Alexandru Tofan - a teacher at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social-Political Sciences, "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University of Iaşi, member of the International Jury. Their presence in international judging structures reflects the prestige of the Romanian philosophical school in a global educational context.
