NASA Targets March 6 for Artemis 2 Mission Launch

NASA plans to launch the Artemis 2 mission on March 6, in which astronauts will fly around the Moon for the first time in more than half a century, according to AFP. The announcement was made by Lori Glaze, head of the US space agency. "After the success of yesterday's launch simulation, we are targeting March 6 as the launch date," she said, noting that there are still important milestones to complete before liftoff.

First human lunar flight in 50 years

NASA announced that it has completed the general test for the launch of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, the vehicle that will carry the crew around the Moon. This was the second test carried out in recent weeks, after a first attempt carried out in early February, which was cut short due to technical problems. As a result, the agency decided to postpone the launch until early March at the earliest.

The Artemis 2 mission will mark the first manned flight near the Moon since the Apollo program, which ended in the 1970s. The crew will include three American astronauts and one Canadian astronaut, and the mission represents a key step in NASA's strategy to return humans to the Moon under the Artemis program.
