The third edition of MoBU - International Contemporary Art Fair takes place from May 28 to June 1 in the Romexpo Central Pavilion, bringing together over 200 artists from nine countries: Bulgaria, Cuba, Germany, Greece, the Republic of Moldova, Serbia, Romania, Ukraine and Hungary. With 54 exhibition stands, MoBU 2025 promises a broad perspective on the local and international contemporary art scene, consolidating its position as the largest contemporary art fair in Central and Eastern Europe.
• Art universities in Romania, part of the creative landscape
In an effort to support artistic education, the event includes the participation of prestigious academic institutions, such as: UNArte Bucharest, Faculty of Visual Arts and Design - National University "George Enescu", Iaşi, Faculty of Arts and Design - West University of Timişoara, University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca.
MoBU Director, Demetra Arapu, emphasized that the essential stake of this year's edition is the creation of a participatory platform, which encourages interdisciplinary dialogue between art, education and research.
• Conferences, workshops and live performances
In addition to the exhibition itself, MoBU 2025 includes an extensive program of related events, such as: conferences and round tables, workshops and performances, thematic discussions on ethics, society, technology and mutual influences in contemporary art.
These activities will bring together artists, curators, collectors and specialists in the field, in a space for artistic reflection and collaboration.
• Forum of Romanian Artists Everywhere: a national premiere
An important novelty of this year's edition is the organization of the first edition of the Forum of Romanian Artists Everywhere, initiated by the ROUNIT Association in partnership with MoBU 2025, with the aim of promoting Romanian artists in the diaspora and creating a bridge between them and the Romanian artistic scene.
Admission is free. MoBU 2025 is a cultural project funded by the Ministry of Culture, the City Hall of the Capital and CREART - the Center for Creation, Art and Tradition of the Municipality of Bucharest, with the objective of supporting and promoting contemporary art in public space.
