Versiunea în limba română

The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 has reconfirmed its status as the world's largest televised music show, attracting 166 million viewers from the 37 participating countries, according to data published by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). This figure exceeds last year's audience by 3 million, confirming the huge interest in the competition that culminated on May 17 with the victory of the Austrian countertenor JJ.

Record ratings in Northern Europe

The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 final recorded the highest audience share since 2004, reaching 47.7% on average, and among young people aged 15 to 24, the percentage rose to 60.4%. The show surpassed a 50% share in 19 of the 37 markets analyzed, with impressive records in the Nordic countries: Iceland: 97.8%, Finland: 90.5%, Sweden: 89.6%, Norway: 85.4%, Denmark: 75.1%, the Netherlands: 75.1%, German-speaking Switzerland: 74.2%. In France, although representative Louane did not achieve a top spot, the competition achieved a 40% share, the highest score in the history of French participation. "Eurovision succeeds in uniting audiences in front of the television in a fragmented media landscape, while attracting new generations on digital platforms," said Martin Green, the director of the contest.

A smashing success on digital platforms

The digital impact of the contest is increasingly visible, with an unprecedented involvement on social networks: TikTok: 748.5 million video views (+3% compared to 2024), Instagram: 969 million views (reels, posts, stories), millions of additional interactions and views on YouTube, Facebook and other platforms. The EBU emphasizes that the songs in the contest have entered the international streaming charts, and the online fan community has expanded considerably, reflecting the cultural strength and global appeal of the event. Eurovision 2025, from which Romania was absent, was not just a music competition, but a global phenomenon, capable of uniting generations, imposing musical trends and conquering both small screens and social platforms. With growing audiences and a strong digital impact, the contest consolidates its position as one of the most relevant entertainment events of the 21st century.
