The Disney company and Formula 1 have announced a unique collaboration that will debut in 2026, with the aim of bringing together two seemingly different worlds, but which share common values: creativity, entertainment and innovation, reports the EFE agency. According to official statements, the partnership will involve the launch of experiences, content and promotional items that will connect the Disney universe with that of Formula 1, offering fans around the world common products. "Our collaboration with Disney promises to be brilliant, presenting the world of Mickey Mouse & Friends to our fans and vice versa. It fits perfectly with our strategy of expanding beyond the world of sports, towards a wider market," said Emily Prazer, commercial director of Formula 1.

A huge fan platform

The collaboration has global potential, given that Formula 1 enjoys an audience of 820 million fans worldwide. This audience is becoming younger and younger, and data shows a significant increase in interest in the sport among children and adolescents. More than 4 million children between the ages of 8 and 12 regularly watch Formula 1 races in Europe and the United States. At the same time, social networks indicate a predominantly young audience: 54% of F1 followers on TikTok are under 25, 40% of Instagram followers are in the same age category.

Disney marks a century with F1

The partnership comes in the context of the anniversary of almost 100 years since the debut of Disney characters, providing a unique promotional platform. "Our collaboration with Formula 1 offers a unique opportunity to bring together two great entertainment powers to create products that fans will love," said Tasia Filippatos, president of Disney Consumer Products. While full details of the partnership will be revealed in the coming months, the collaboration promises to be a landmark in the global entertainment and sports industry, with the potential to attract new audiences to both brands.
