Artificial Intelligence is becoming more powerful

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been causing quite a storm in the "labs" where IT specialists work. New discoveries in the field are announced weekly, and AI is becoming increasingly "powerful." OpenAI, a startup supported by Microsoft, has announced that ChatGPT can now browse the internet to provide users with up-to-date information, and this browsing is no longer limited to data prior to September 2021, according to Reuters. "Browsing is available today to Plus and Enterprise users, and we will be expanding to all users soon. To turn it on, select Browse with Bing in the GPT-4 dropdown," the company said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. OpenAI announced a major update to ChatGPT earlier this week, allowing the viral chatbot to have voice conversations with users and interact using images, bringing it closer to popular AI assistants like Apple's Siri. The AI startup behind ChatGPT is in talks with investors about a possible stock sale at a much higher valuation than a few months ago.

On the other hand, Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp will soon offer users chatbots with various personalities and functionalities. Meta has announced that it will launch multiple types of chatbots for its social platforms, confirming previous rumors. None of the company's social platforms will be exempt from chatbots, except for Threads, which is still in development. In essence, chatbots within Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp will provide answers to users' questions, similar to ChatGPT. Additionally, they will have real-time access to search results available in Bing, through a partnership between Meta and Microsoft. With their help, users will also be able to generate images using the command /image. The chatbots will express themselves in 28 characters, many of them based on personalities such as Charli D'Amelio, Dwyane Wade, Kendall Jenner, MrBeast, Snoop Dogg, and Paris Hilton. Meta is now directly competing with OpenAI, with several advantages. Meta offers free access to features that are available only for a fee with ChatGPT. Furthermore, Meta's chatbots will have immediate exposure to the billions of users on its social platforms, giving them a head start. Beyond chatbots, Meta will introduce a series of other AI-based tools on its social platforms. All of the company's social platforms will allow the generation of stickers using AI, and Instagram, in addition, will offer image editing based on written commands.
